Why we do what we do: Scholarships to Keller ISD students

Not only does the Greater Keller Women's Club Foundation's annual Garden of Roses Fundraiser provide grants to local non-profit organizations, each year we also support graduating students from each of the four Keller ISD high schools with scholarships to the college they will be attending.

Linda Bowden, long time Foundation and Club member chaired the Scholarship Committee for many years until recently when Jennifer Gilland-Armstrong, past Club President assumed the chairmanship role for the committee. The Scholarship Committee Chair has a close working relationship with counselors at each of the four high schools: Keller, Fossil Ridge, Central and the newest Timber Creek, to ensure all graduating seniors are aware of the scholarship availability and meet the application deadline (which typically is in late March or early April). Click here for a link to the 2016 scholarship application. GKWC members (who have been a member for at least 3 years) can volunteer to sit on the committee to thoroughly review and discuss each application and make the selections.
